An hour of anatomy sketches

Since last sunday at a comic convention I felt my anatomy skills were up to some polishing, so I decided to sketch for an hour using this wonderful website: http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/

These are the sketches I came up with, starting with a lot of very quick sketches continuing into longer and longer periods per pose. I concentrated mostly on shape and placing of dark and light areas. I feel like my shading needs some work, but I'm fairly satisfied with the shapes.

Face a Day 6

Someone asked me: "what is your style?" That's a difficult question... So I drew him a portrait of one of my comic characters. I've drawn her for years and even though I haven't drawn her in a long time, I guess this style is as much mine as any that I have used and still use.

Face a Day 5

Again an unsuspecting model. This time one who was moving a lot and people were standing between me and her all the time. So I didn't get the folds in her hijab (I think it's called) right. So I left them out and filled in everything except that.

Face a Day 4

Face 4 is based on a real person, but only loosely. She didn't know I was drawing her so she isn't angry at me. I hope.

Face a Day 1

I'm starting a Face a Day challenge. Why? No real reason, except that I feel I haven't done anything "artsy" for no good reason in a long while.

So here is face number 1!
